Mosaics in Motion Global Film Project: Dance performance & Film production

The British Council in collaboration with 4Motion Dance Theatre Company will organise the facilitation of a six-day performance project between the 3rd – 8th December 2012 working everyday in the afternoon with up to 40 students between the ages of 14-18 years. Our Makassed school is participating along with another seven public and private schools in Lebanon.

The six-day performance project will offer an insight into 4Motion’s contemporary dance theatre techniques and choreography devices to create a performance. 

The program includes:

·         Dance fitness and contemporary technique

·         Introduction to choreography devices

·         Performance skills for dance and film performances

·         Developing different techniques, including travel sequence

·         Experimental choreography and improvisation tasks

·         Developing complex movement phrases and travel sequences

·         Structure choreography sections

·         Develop performance skills

·         Rehearse structured choreography working on entrances and exits

·         Dress & technical rehearsal

After all the previous preparations our students will perform in a community event, showcasing their performance to family, friends and school communities. ThenMotion Dance Theatre Company will facilitate a two-day film project. Theywill work intensively over two days to choreograph and shoot the film on different locations in Lebanon.  Mosaics in Motion film will be processed, edited and produced back in the UK and will be posted/uploaded to the British Council and our school blog and web site in January 2013.
